Releasing blocks for a confident mindset

Hi Empowerista,

I know you have a purposeful platform inside of you. Perhaps you even have the domain, social media handles and first steps checked off your to-do list. The things is, none of these things matter if you don't believe in yourself. Don't get me wrong... Mind hurdles like fear, self-doubt and comparison are all normal and natural reactions to going for your dreams. I've interviewed dozens of successful Empoweristas, and they all confirm: these negative feelings never go away. The difference is, their confidence, perspective and belief system outweigh the negativity. So when a mind hurdle creeps up... it doesn't stay for long, and it certainly doesn't hold them back.

This can be you too.

Fear and self-doubt don't need to cripple you.

I've come up with the "Triple-A technique: Awareness, Attitude & Affirmationto help you let go of any mind hurdles you're dealing with and unleash your inner Empowerista 🙂

I'll explain the process by putting my most common mind hurdle (doubt) through the Triple-A technique:

Step 1: Awareness- How does this mind hurdle show up in your life? What triggered it?

Doubt often pops up when things feel hard and my career isn’t effortlessly and freely flowing. It’s often triggered by rejection or a seemingly lack of opportunities in my field. It puts me in a funk where I move slower and feel less motivated.

Step 2: Attitude- What negative thoughts/beliefs do you have as a result? What are some positive thoughts/beliefs you can adopt instead?

Negative: “My flavor isn’t in right now.” “There aren’t enough opportunities.” “What makes me so special?” “The odds are against me.”

Positive: “I am unique and no one else has my individual make up.” “If I can have an excellent work ethic, there is no reason I cannot have excellent results.” “As long as I’m doing my part to be successful, fate will take care of the rest.”

Step 3: Affirmation- Choose an affirmation to say out loud three times a day, helping you focus on and believe the truth you’ve discovered in step 2.

Example: “I work hard to stay true to my unique self, knowing what I seek is seeking me right back.”

Other possible mind hurdles to make a Triple-A for:

Shame, Anger, Low self-esteem, Jealousy, Fear, Resistance, Control, Attachment, Impatience, Entitlement

Exercise- Pick a mind hurdle and put it through the Triple-A technique:

Step 1: Awareness- How does this mind hurdle show up in your life? What triggered it?

Step 2: Attitude- What negative thoughts/beliefs do you have as a result? What are some positive thoughts/beliefs you can adopt instead?

Step 3: Affirmation- Choose an affirmation to say out loud three times a day, helping you focus on and believe the truth you’ve discovered in step 2.

Pro tip: Write your affirmation somewhere you’ll see it everyday and recite it 3 times out loud.
